Plus Size Clothing ? A Large Problem For Plus Size Women ...

Retailers all over the country are abandoning the plus size woman when it comes to stylish and trendy plus size fashions. Part of the reason that the plus-size apparel market is problematic for most retailers is because often times they are more expensive than ?regular? sized clothes. This is because plus-size collections are expensive to make as much as 10% or more than standard lines. Experts estimate because they require additional fabrics and special fit models and patterns coupled with a dismal retail environment.

The sad part is that plus size women have very limited options for large women clothing. The designers and manufactures do not seem to mind just putting together old and ugly fashions especially for young people in their twenties and thirties who are overweight. Most plus size women do not mind buying clothes that are marketed as ?plus size? if they did not have to choose from tent-like clothes or clothes that are designed for smaller frames just made bigger. When this happens it is not fashionable nor flattering.

The fact is being a large size woman does not make you ugly. But fashion designers have virtually forgotten about this market to the extent that even the models are so called plus size when really they only wear a size 12 at best with flat stomachs and toned body parts. This is not what the average plus size woman looks like. If fashion designers start making clothes with actual plus size women in mind, they might find more success.

Both women and men over the past 5 years have become increasingly more obese which means the demand for stylist, great colors, flexible sizes for the large size woman has extended far beyond what is now available. Plus size women feel more hopeless when they go into store only to find sizes meant for small women along with drab colors and ugly styles. Retailers should realize that plus size women are here to stay and they will buy if clothes meet the demand.

Unfortunately, plus-size shopper options are getting fewer each day. Even though large size women are the latest victim of the recession, the demand is still there. It is almost like retailers have ignored the demands of these customers and abandoned them. However, there are buying options that the plus size woman can have to stave the retail fashion standoff. Most of the plus size women have turned to catalog and internet buying with great success.

There are great catalogs and internet stores that provide great fashions and clothing for the plus size women that fit and have flexible styles, colors, and sizes to fit the large women. Maybe in the future the retailers will realize that their fashion buyers and designers have made a crucial mistake by ignoring the plus size clothing market.

Love Plus OneLove Plus OneShannon McKenna is a shy production assistant with big dreams and even bigger phobias, most of which are not unrelated to her double-digit figure. She coasts along quite comfortably in the ?Shadows?, where she lives vicariously from her fingertips as an aspiring writer. When her similarly sized boss Dixie dangles a carrot in front of her crew to come up with her next TV project, Shannon teasingly concocts a dating reality show with her best friend, the hunky Jake Dalton. Instead of a traditional format, there would be a ?mole? at the bachelorette pad, who would provide all the inside scoop of how the girls really behaved to the Bachelor in question. The only problem is her coworker Rex, or Dogface, Lord of the Reptilian People. When she dallies in her insecurity he pounces on her idea and virtually steals her producing credit. With a little help from Jake and her fairy godmother Jorge, Shannon decides to sabotage the show by rigging it from the inside out. She and Jake would star in the show, and the hunky hero would choose the mole - the "Every Woman" instead of the bevy of beauties that had already been cast. The more they fake it, the easier it is for Shannon to feign a budding romance with her best buddy. Before long she has lost her heart, and some of her sanity. She finally realizes she loves Jake, just in time to fight off 20 other women to win his heart.
