Elderly Rome man ticketed after allegedly driving into pedestrian, multiple cars in Walmart parking lot

Rome (WSYR-TV) ? An elderly Rome man was ticketed on Thursday after he drove into a pedestrian and multiple other vehicles in a Walmart parking, according to Sheriff?s Deputies.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff?s Office, the incident began when 86-year-old Mark Humez backed into a pedestrian and then continued in reverse.

They say his 2012 Chrysler struck another vehicle, which in turn struck another car.

Sheriff?s Deputies say Humez then put his car in drive and struck two more parked vehicles.

The pedestrian he struck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Humez was ticketed with unsafe backing and unsafe start. The tickets are returnable to Rome City Court.
